Our customers appreciate the value of hard work and determination. They recognize the characters who don’t just take the easy route, but instead define their own road through life. Both Serengeti® and the people who wear them are Built to Endure.

Photochromic Technology - Adapt to the Light

Serengeti is a pioneer in the development of photochromic technology. Darkening in bright sunlight and lightening in overcast conditions, Photochromic technology allows your eyes to adapt to any light, anywhere. The result is a view of the world so crystal clear, you’ll notice natural beauty you’ve never seen before. This technology is molecularly infused into every Serengeti lens.

Spectral Control Technology - Manage the Light

Spectral Control® technology removes wavelengths to give better saturation of what we need to see. Much like an audio equalizer filters sound frequency, our lens fine tunes and filters shortwave blue light, allowing more red, green, and yellow to pass through. Landscapes that would be washed out, dull, or flat with other lenses become defined, vibrant, and vivid. Traffic signs and signals appear more distinguishable — while your eyes remain relaxed.

Polarising Technology - Control the Light

Serengeti’s Polarizing technology suppresses glare, allowing to enjoy all the depth and beauty the world has to offer. When glare reflects off the road, water, snow or flat areas, parallel light rays can pass through unhindered, while distracting perpendicular light is reflected. This allows you to discover more clarity, while living free from glare and eye fatigue. Some of our products feature non-polarized lens options, ideal for pilots or professionals with digital instrument panels.

Ultra Light Mineral Lens

Serengeti’s mineral lenses are made with borosilicate optical glass from Corning®. Every pair of Serengeti® mineral lenses is unique and comes to life through an intense hydrogenfiring process: with varying temperatures that determine the proprietary lens hue. The lenses are chemically tempered to ensure scratch and impact resistance, then ground to perfection. All this process allows mineral lenses to withstand extreme temperature changes and gives the best visual acuity you could ever experience. An antireflective coating is added to the backside of the lens, cancelling the scattering light that causes glare.

A full 20% thinner and lighter, our borosilicate mineral glass lenses are not only finer than any other lens. Produced in the same process normally reserved for ophthalmic quality prescription lenses, they also provide the best visual optics in the industry. Each photochromic lens passes through a hydrogen-fueled Lehr furnace, which fuses each lens with the Spectral Control® technology — with varying temperatures that determine the proprietary lens hue.

Polar PHD 2.0 Lens

NXT® SUN lenses are composed of a urethane-based monomer and are made from a cast molding process similar to regular plastic lenses. This gives NXT® lenses the advantage of crisp optics. The PhD™ 2.0 NXT® Sun lens features Serengeti 3-in-1 lens technology: Polarization, Spectral Control® and Photochromic technologies. With a lower temperature sensitivity allowing high performance in any climate, Photochromic technology ensures that the lenses darken faster and deeper even in hotter environments. A renewable backside anti-fog treatment prevents fog, keeping the vision clear even in case of quick temperature change - like when exiting a car with air conditioning.

Each lens is built with NXT® technology and made from Trivex material, which was designed to withstand extreme impact and temperature changes. Lighter than polycarbonate, NXT® technology offers higher optical clarity and the perfect balance of visual and physical performance. The PhD™ 2.0 features hydro- and oleophobic front-side coatings, which help repel water, fingerprints and debris. The highly durable backside anti-fog treatment enables perfect vision and performance whatever the activity.

Committed to always offering its customers the highest optical clarity and comfort, and especially appreciated by drivers, Serengeti distances its competitors when it comes to prescription lenses. With its Vario Drive Thin design technology, Serengeti is the only brand able to provide this level of performance in prescription lenses for 99% of the wearers. Vario Drive Thin Design technology allows Serengeti prescription lenses to offer the same level of performance for prescription or non-prescription lenses thanks to the most cutting-edge advancements available in the optical industry. Software using complex calculations creates customized lenses and the ultimate in comfort and lightweight products. Every product is customized to the prescription, frame and wearer’s facial metrics and is precisely surfaced using the latest Digital lens surfacing technology. The result is the thinnest and most comfortable lens possible with the same technology and the same performance as lenses without prescription. Everyone’s eyes can now appreciate the world’s subtleties.
