Abernethy Owens Optometrists are the Western Australian suppliers of Leaded Glass Radiation Safety Glasses. Due to the unique challenges radiation exposure presents for medical professionals we aim to combine optimum visual correction with the required radiation protection. Individual visual needs can vary greatly between workplaces and the procedures being undertaken. At Abernethy and Owens we will work closely with you to develop a combined solution both for your optical and radiation protection needs.
For this specialized form of safety eyewear, we have developed in house expertise at our Floreat and Kardinya practices. Ideally located within close proximity to some of Perth’s major hospital facilities these practices are equipped with sample fitting frames to ensure the best fit and comfort for you. We have partnered with safety lens manufacturer Rx Safety in South Australia who have undergone exhaustive testing and assessment of their radiation safety lenses to ensure they meet the strictest criteria. All radiation safety glasses are manufactured to exacting standards to meet the ARPANSA recommended minimum 0.75mm lead equivalence.
If required we can provide comprehensive eye examinations prior to dispensing your radiation safety glasses and will provide a thorough frame adjustment on collection to ensure a trouble free wearing experience.
